Tony T. Chan, CFP®, EA was born in Hong Kong, China. He immigrated to San Francisco, California with his family at the age of eight. Upon graduating from high school, he served six years in the Army Reserve as an Automated Logistical Specialist (92A). After receiving his acceptance letter from California State University of Fullerton’s ROTC program, Tony moved to Orange County to further his education. Attending school and working simultaneously four part-time jobs, he realized the importance of personal financial planning. He started attending the Financial Planning Association’s quarterly meetings, and it was here that he discovered the CFP® designation.
Upon graduating from the California State University of Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and minoring in Military Science, and after receiving his commission from California State University of Fullerton Army ROTC, he decided to pursue his goal of becoming a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner. Tony received his Registered Paraplanner (SM) through the College of Financial Planning before becoming a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner. Today he is a Fee-Only Financial Planner & Investment Adviser and a Captain with the U.S. Army Reserve.
Tony has more than ten years of experience in financial planning and tax services. He has extensive knowledge in advising clients from various income levels on comprehensive retirement plans, portfolio analysis, tax planning, debt & risk management, and estate planning. He has made contributions to articles such as "InvestmentNews" and "Capital Ideas".
He is also a proud member of the Orange County Financial Planning Association, The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and the XY Planning Network. Tony has received multiple awards and is a nominee for 2016 class of InvestmentNews 40Under40.

Garrett G. Jones, CFP®, EA professional background began with the U.S. Army, where he served as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne in his deployment to Afghanistan. The values and experiences he learned during his military career instilled him with valuable leadership experience. Over time, Garrett's interest diverted to the world of finance as he aspired to owning a financial firm. In 2012, he took the first steps towards building his dream. The first step was completing the CFP® education program and earned the Enrolled Agent designation.
By 2014, he retired from the U.S. Army and was successfully employed as an Administrative Assistant in in the financial planning department at a CPA firm in Southern California. Working in financial planning gave Garrett the critical experience and networking he needed to become successful, but he knew that he couldn't rest on his laurels. In 2015, he obtained a M.S. in Personal Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning. He progressed to earn his Certified Financial Planner designation while working at Tax & Financial Group as a Financial Planner in 2016. In 2018, he took up the mantle of Vice President-Wealth Planner at Wells Fargo Private Bank in downtown Los Angeles. Ultimately, all of these experiences culminated in him taking the most critical step in being a partner of Crossroads Planning LLC.
Garrett has utilized his years of experience in finance to give back to the military community. He has reached out to the community by providing comprehensive planning and tax advisement. His industry strengths include: advanced retirement planning, advanced estate plan design, insurance analysis and philanthropic planning. Through Behavioral Finance and Family System Theory, he strives to connect with his clients to drive the planning process to uniquely tailor to each individual’s needs.
Brandon Pope grew up in Long Beach, California where he experienced an underprivileged childhood. These limitations fueled his desire to pursue a financial education. As he became more educated about finance, a passion within him emerged. After attending a couple of Financial Planning Association NextGen gatherings, he met like-minded peers and mentors. The experiences he garnered at these gatherings encouraged him to pursue a career as a Certified Financial Planner™.
Currently, Brandon is an undergraduate at California State University, Fullerton where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, and completing the CFP® required coursework. In addition to pursuing this degree, and fulfilling the CFP® requirements he is in the process of obtaining the IRS Enrolled Agent designation to further his tax proficiency.
Within his first year of working in the tax and financial planning industry, Brandon has obtained a California tax license and QuickBooks certification. This year, Brandon was a recipient of the 2018 Financial Planning Association’s Annual Conference Student Intern Program scholarship.
NextGen has played a critical role in Brandon's professional development and he has continued to play a role within the organization. He has volunteered his time by setting up financial planning events for NextGen. He has also volunteered for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), a program that helps low to moderate income workers. Never forgetting his modest background, Brandon's willingness to help others is what drives his dedication to learning.
